Zervio is now a Smart Energy Code Party
Zervio Limited is a Party to the Smart Energy Code — the agreement that governs smart metering in Great Britain, and the framework the Data Communications Company operates under. Suppliers, networks and technology providers are all Parties to it. So, now, are we.
Accession binds us to the obligations in the Code and gives us standing in the governance that changes them. It is not the same as holding a DCC User Role; those are granted separately, through the User Entry Process.
Why it matters
Solar, storage, EV charging and heat pumps all produce energy that has to be measured, attributed and settled — increasingly to the half hour. The commercial questions in decentralised energy are becoming data questions: who measured it, to what standard, and who is permitted to see it.
Those standards are set inside the Smart Energy Code. We would rather help shape them than read about them afterwards.
Where it sits
Zervio is the native operating system for decentralised energy. One stack for the life of the asset: Eco designs and delivers it, the Orbit Edge Controller measures and controls it on site, Orbit operates and settles it.
Standards work is slow and unglamorous, and it is where the next decade of this market gets decided. This is one step. There is more to come.
Zervio. The native operating system for decentralised energy.
