Case Study Spotlight: The Snows Stadium — AFC Totton
We’re proud to share a new case study from the field — a recent renewable deployment at AFC Totton Football Club Ltd, at The Snows Stadium in Southampton.
The project included a 118.32 kWp solar PV system paired with 100 kWh of battery storage, supporting the club’s drive to reduce energy costs and improve sustainability. Sports venues are energy-intensive environments, and projects like this show how solar and storage can deliver real operational benefit without compromising day-to-day facility demands.
Zervio Orbit: visibility, performance insight — and real-time savings attribution
A key part of long-term success is what happens after commissioning. In this installation, Zervio Orbit provides full site-wide visibility and actionable performance insights, enabling smarter energy management across the facility.
But visibility alone isn’t enough — what matters is translating performance into commercial reality. A major advantage of Orbit is its ability to deliver real-time, rated savings by attributing on-site generation and storage behaviour against grid supply under Time-of-Use (TOU) tariffs. In practical terms, that means the site can see not just what the system is doing, but what it is saving right now, based on the tariff periods that actually apply.
For energy-intensive sites, this becomes a powerful operational tool:
Understand how solar generation is offsetting grid import in real time
See when battery behaviour is reducing grid exposure during higher-cost TOU periods
Track rated savings and performance in a way that aligns with real tariffs and real bills
Maintain consistent data that supports ongoing reporting and decision-making
Why this matters for energy-intensive facilities
For facilities like stadiums, the value of renewables goes beyond “generation”. The combination of solar PV, storage, and a platform that can measure performance and savings in context creates the foundation for:
clearer operational visibility
better-informed energy decisions
improved performance accountability over time
measurable cost reduction aligned to tariff structures
a more robust pathway to lower carbon outcomes
This is exactly the type of deployment Zervio Orbit is built to support: clean energy assets that remain visible, measurable, and commercially accountable throughout their operational life — not just on commissioning day.
